SO MANY THINGS TO SAY. Let’s get started:

1. I’m embarrassed we’re on Fox News. that will never be an accomplishment in my mind.

2. Speaking of representation… why is only one, very extreme view represented here? is this really national media? whatever.

3. 95% of the people there opposed the policy? You pull that statistic out of your ass? Or did Fox figure it out for you? :oh wait same thing:

4. “TRYING TO LET ATHEISTS RUN PRAYER GROUPS” why is everyone so afraid of this?!? what atheist do you know is trying to ‘wreak havoc’ in your religious groups?!? oh good, i can run for president of the Muslim Student Association. can’t wait to get in there and destroy everything they hold dear. …what?

5. Why are we pretending like we don’t know the reason behind all this? Vanderbilt had a discrimination complaint brought because a homosexual man was kicked out of a Christian group. TO AVOID FURTHER DISCRIMINATION, they are removing the clause that gives religious groups exemption from the non-discrimination policy.

That also includes religious discrimination.

However, the administration knew that would make things tricky, WHICH IS WHY THEY EXPLAINED HOW A GROUP CAN WORK AROUND THAT. They f***ing gave you a way out, offered to sit down with you and help you revise your constitutions, and held a town hall meeting for THREE HOURS to explain to you everyone’s going to be okay and you’re not all going to die.

Even if an atheist DID want to lead a prayer group, you don’t have to vote for them to lead your group. You can’t stop them from joining your group or running for election… but why would you want to keep them out? Isn’t evangelism a good thing for most religions? Exercise that skill on non-believers interested enough to join your group in the first place.
